Second Chances. If we're honest, they're not only something we want. They're something we need ... most every day. A fresh start. A do-over. A chance to learn from our mistakes and seize the opportunities we missed in the past.
 
There's something intrinsically beautiful and redemptive about seeing that theme come to life on the pages of a compelling romance, isn't there? It Takes Courage to Accept a Second Chance

I love the idea of second chances. I'm not just talking about romance, but life in general. Goodness knows, there have been instances a second chance was offered to me when it wasn't deserved. But isn't that the beauty of a it? Second chances give us an opportunity to right wrongs and make things better the second time around. 

I think that's why the story in Finding Courage is one of my favorites. Duke and Avalon had one of those whirlwind courtships, falling in love shortly after they first met. But as it usually does, real life set in quickly once they were married. Both of them made a number of mistakes that kept building until a chasm big enough to swallow them both threatened their relationship. 

Sometimes, it's easier to walk away than it is to face what's happened. But good things rarely come without effort. I like to think that, when we put ourselves out there and truly grab hold of a second chance, we'll see blessings, even if they aren't what we expected them to be.
