Please join me in welcoming Faith Blum as we take a look at her new release, Savior, Like a Shepherd. Faith's new book explores the life of three orphans born during the Wild West.
This cover is gorgeous and my favorite of all Faith's covers. Does that location look amazingly peaceful? Keep reading to learn more about Savior, Like a Shepherd, meet one of the characters, and then make sure you read to the end to see the super fun giveaway she has going on, too!
The ground shook and a rumble sounded through the air as the train squealed to a stop. Maybe, just maybe, I could carry someone’s bags without the porter taking notice. And then there was the even bigger maybe: Maybe I could get enough money to at least buy a crust of bread for Trevor and Tabitha to share.
I hid behind the boxes in the freight yard and kept one eye on the porter, and the other on the second class passenger car. The porter had his attention on the first class car, so I slipped into the gathering crowd.
Titus Hine has always taken care of others. First in protecting his brother and sister from the men his mother entertained. Even more so after her death, when the townspeople refused to help the orphans of a town prostitute. He’s been protector and provider, despite the hardships. He’s learned that no one will help, no one cares and if he wants to survive he’ll have to rely on his own strength not just for himself but his family as well.
Then a stranger shows him the kindness and help no one else seems willing to. Between her kindness and the lecture she gives the Christian Leaders, Titus’s life takes an unexpected turn for the better. With help and provision from the local believers things should be easier, his burdens are lifted. So why does it feel like life is spinning out of control?
Can Titus learn that while man may fail him there is One who will never fail? Can he learn to allow God to be the Shepherd of his life and lead him? Or will life continue to push him every which way?
Note: 50% of my income from this series will go to the World Orphans organization.

Character Spotlight: Meet Trevor
Name: Trevor Hine
Age: 8 (at beginning of the book)
Trevor was born to Clarice Hine on July 9, 1872. He had an older half-brother who became the only father-figure he knew for a while. He was a quiet child from birth, always thinking things through and trying to help out whenever he could.
When his sister was born, he helped Titus take care of her while their mother entertained her “guests.” His primary job was to keep her quiet.
Personality: Timid, shy, creative, probably INTP, loves to read
Personal Goal: To help his brother as much as possible
Mr. Mills. He owed Willard plenty of favors. He thought through all the possible variables in involving Mr. Mills with his company. After thinking through each possibility, Willard grinned and headed for the door.
“Going somewhere?” Deputy Stevens asked.
“Yes. I’ll be back later.”
“I hold down fort here.” Deputy Stevens did a poor imitation of a Hispanic accent.
Willard stalked out of the office and headed to the mill at the edge of town. “Mr. Mills,” he said when he saw the owner.
“Sheriff Hanson. This is a pleasant surprise. To what do we owe the pleasure of your company?”
“I have a favor to ask you. Can we go to your office?”
Mr. Mills smiled. “Of course! Come.”
He led Willard to a small room with a desk and three chairs. They sat down.
“What did you need, Sheriff?”
Willard looked up at him. “I need you to not sell any more wood to Ezra Meyer.”
Mr. Mills’ mouth fell open. “What? Why? He’s one of my most faithful customers. And the best paying one. I can’t afford to deny him—”
“I could forget our arrangement,” Willard warned.
Mr. Mills’ eyes grew wider. “You wouldn’t.”
“Why would you not want Mr. Meyer to rebuild the slums? It seems like a good thing to do.”
Willard scowled. “I have my reasons and I don’t want to get into them with you. Stop selling your planks to Mr. Meyer and I will keep you safe. If you don’t, I won’t.”
Mr. Mills clenched his jaw. “I don’t like this.”
“You don’t have to.”
Mr. Mills’ jaw moved from side to side and he tapped his fingers on the desk. “Fine,” he snapped. “I’ll do it.”
Willard held his gaze until satisfied he had told the truth. “Thank you.” He stood up and walked back to the office.

Hello everyone! Please join me in welcoming author Melissa Tagg to my blog today. She writes romantic comedies, including the Walker Family and Where Love Begins series. Thanks for joining us, Melissa!
How fun to get to hang out here today! Thanks for hosting me, Melanie. I’m excited to share just a little bit about one of my latest book, Keep Holding On.
Every time I start writing a new story, I worry that I won’t love these characters as much as I loved the characters in my last book. But oh. my. goodness. I really can’t tell you how strongly adorable-but-wounded Beckett Walker and spunky-but-stressed Kit Danby tugged on my heart. They’re former best friends who parted ways--not amicably, mind you!—years ago, but in this story, they’re once again thrown together. Enter plenty of hilarious moments…a few painful memories and long-forgotten longings…and oh yeah, SPARKS!
But really, it’s the theme of holding on that, well, took hold of me as I wrote this story. To be honest, when I started out, I thought it was a story about the things we need to hold on to. But it ended up being about how God holds on to us…even when we’re ready to let go. Writing this story changed me. And I hope it does the same for readers.
In addition to the paperback copy of Keep Holding On I’m giving away as part of our blog hope, you can also enter for a chance to win a Kindle copy by completing the Rafflecopter entry below and letting me know whether you think this excerpt from Keep Holding On ends in a kiss or a miss.
In this scene, Beckett and Kit are sitting on a beach just north of Boston and Kit has just finished telling Beckett about the time she visited Spain…
“You’re a good storyteller, Kit, you know that?” A drowsy quiet curled in the air around them. Beckett’s midnight eyes were fastened on the water, something distant and contemplative in his gaze. The wind ruffled his hair, and minutes passed before he spoke again. “It’s too bad we weren’t on speaking terms when you were abroad. I could’ve demanded you send me postcards. I’d like to go to Europe someday.”
Maybe the Army would send him there. Maybe he’d send her postcards.
The unwelcome thought propelled her to her feet.
“What?” Beckett lifted his eyes.
“Let’s go wading.”
“It’s going to be freezing, Kit.”
“I know, but if I can survive the Mediterranean in March, I can endure the Atlantic in September.” She bent over to unlace and yank off her boots, movement almost frantic. Off came her socks, and she rolled up her leggings.
Beckett just sat there, staring.
“Don’t wimp out on me, Beck.”
His inflated sigh gave way to obedience. He rose and kicked off his own shoes while she tested the water. A squeal pitched from her the second it touched her toes.
“Told you!” Beckett chirped, still safely ensconced in sand.
Just for that, she waded deeper, icy water licking up her ankles and the chill climbing her spine. “It’s refreshing.” Her teeth chattered through the lie.
Beckett laughed and followed her in, his own gasp colliding with the whoosh of the wind. “If I get frostbite and my toes fall off—”
“Stop whining.” She reached her fingers into the foamy blue and sent a splash his way.
Which, of course, was a mistake. Because, of course, he splashed back.
Within seconds she was half-doused and wholly frozen, shrieking and laughing and on her way to losing her footing.
If not for Beckett’s darting arms.
He caught her before she could fall, and she landed against his chest.
And yet, something told her she was far from safe. “Don’t you dare push me all the way in. Don’t you dare.” She yelped the command.
“I’m not going to push you in.”
But his impish grin and baritone laughter convinced her that was exactly what he was going to do. Which was why she clasped her hands together around his neck. “I’m not letting go. You push me in and you’re coming down with me.”
Her hair whipped around her head, wet strands matting to her face. She couldn’t feel her toes, couldn’t catch her breath, couldn’t stop laughing . . .
Until he stopped.
Arms holding her in place and eyes locked on hers. “You said you wished you’d let me kiss you that night.”
The shiver raced through her. “Y-you heard that?”
He lifted his hand to brush her hair from her face, one finger trailing over her cheek as he tucked it behind her ear.
So? What do you think? Enter either “Kiss” or “Miss” in the Rafflecopter form below to enter the drawing for a Kindle copy of Keep Holding On.

It Takes Courage to Accept a Second Chance
I love the idea of second chances. I'm not just talking about romance, but life in general. Goodness knows, there have been instances a second chance was offered to me when it wasn't deserved. But isn't that the beauty of a it? Second chances give us an opportunity to right wrongs and make things better the second time around.
I think that's why the story in Finding Courage is one of my favorites. Duke and Avalon had one of those whirlwind courtships, falling in love shortly after they first met. But as it usually does, real life set in quickly once they were married. Both of them made a number of mistakes that kept building until a chasm big enough to swallow them both threatened their relationship.
Sometimes, it's easier to walk away than it is to face what's happened. But good things rarely come without effort. I like to think that, when we put ourselves out there and truly grab hold of a second chance, we'll see blessings, even if they aren't what we expected them to be.
It's Giveaway Time!
Has the opportunity for a second chance - whether extended by you or offered to you - changed your life? Comment on this blog post below and you'll be entered for a chance to with a $5.00 Amazon gift card. A winner will be chosen randomly Saturday morning, January 21st, and contacted by e-mail.
Finding Courage - Only $0.99
It takes courage to ask for a second chance…even more to extend one.
For Duke and Avalon McNeil, it was love at first sight. Married within months of meeting, their feet hardly touched the ground until the reality of their haste hit home with startling clarity.
Duke's heart shattered when Avalon vanished for nearly three weeks, fleeing their arguments and misunderstandings. Now she's back. He's happy she's home and safe, but he isn't ready to risk everything again when their bond was so easily broken.
Avalon's relieved to be home. She's desperate to make peace between them, but returns with a secret. She can't reveal anything to Duke until she proves to him she came back to restore their relationship.
As outside pressure continues to threaten Duke and Avalon's fragile foundation, they must find the strength to prove to each other their marriage is worth fighting for.
If you'd like to read Duke and Avalon's story, Finding Courage
is on sale for only $0.99 now through January 20th.

Please join me in welcoming my friend, and USA Today Bestselling Author, Shanna Hatfield. She's sharing details about her latest release: A sweet World War II romance. I had the opportunity to read this book and it is absolutely beautiful. Rock and Miko's story will melt your heart and leave you with a romance you won't forget.
Can forbidden love blossom
amid the constraints of war?
The moment the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, life shifted for Miko Nishimura. Desperate to reach the Portland Assembly Center for Japanese-Americans, she’s kicked off the bus miles from town. Every tick of the clock pushes her closer to becoming a fugitive in the land of her birth. Exhausted, she stumbles to her grandparents’ abandoned farm only to find a dying soldier sprawled across the step. Unable to leave him, she forsakes all else to keep him alive.
After crashing his plane in the Battle of the Atlantic, the doctors condemn Captain Rock Laroux to die. Determined to meet his maker beneath a blue sky at his family home, he sneaks out of the hospital. Weary and half out of his mind, he makes it as far as a produce stand he remembers from his youth. Rather than surrender to death, Rock fights a battle of the heart as he falls in love with the beautiful Japanese woman who saves his life.
A poignant, sweet romance, Garden of Her Heart proves love can bloom in unlikely places even under the most challenging circumstances.

Instead, her father stared at him and asked a single question. “Describe Miko in one word.”
“One word, sir?” Rock asked, confused.
“Yes. If you summed up everything about her in one word, what would it be?” Jack’s face remained impassive as he waited for Rock’s answer.
Taken aback by his request, Rock’s thoughts splintered in a hundred directions. Only a few seconds passed before the word that floated through the maelstrom in his head gained clarity. “Hummingbird.”
Baffled, both Shig and Jack stared in confusion.
“Explain, please,” Jack said.
Rock took a deep breath. “Before I was wounded, I was stationed in Trinidad, off Venezuela’s coast in the southern Caribbean. The area is a big melting pot of combined cultures — Creole, East Indian, Chinese, African. A great diversity of flowers and shrubbery grow there, and it offers more than four hundred different species of birds. But do you know what they call the island?”
At the men’s interested looks, Rock continued. “Land of the Hummingbird. While I was there, I saw many of them. The islanders believe hummingbirds are symbols of all that is good and they carry joy wherever they go. Hummingbirds are fearless, determined, adaptable, and flexible. They possess the courage of a mighty lion and the magic of mythical fairies. Hummingbirds have boundless energy and endurance. Those little birds can make the most difficult journey seem like a simple matter, and they are loyal, devoted to the garden they claim as their own. They are fiercely independent, but those who accept that can long enjoy the beauty and wonder of those amazing little winged fellows.”
Jack’s mouth quirked upward and he bit back a smile. “So you’re saying Miko is like a demented bird who wants only to suck the sweetness out of life?”
USA Today Bestselling Author Shanna Hatfield writes character-driven romances with relatable heroes and heroines. Her historical westerns have been described as “reminiscent of the era captured by Bonanza and The Virginian” while her contemporary works have been called “laugh-out-loud funny, and a little heart-pumping sexy without being explicit in any way.”
Convinced everyone deserves a happy ending, this hopeless romantic is out to make it happen, one story at a time. When she isn’t writing or indulging in chocolate (dark and decadent, please), Shanna hangs out with her husband, lovingly known as Captain Cavedweller.

Hello everyone! I'm excited to have my friend and fellow author, Franky, here on my blog with her new release, Emma's Match. I had the opportunity to read an early copy of her book and it's so much fun. If you enjoy chick lit and a good romance, you'll love this book.
About the Book
Emma Wallace has a plan up her sleeve to save her struggling design business, but not a clue what do to about the man who has her heart.
Stealing a kiss from Will Knight years ago ended in an embarrassment she didn’t want to repeat. But when a popular new designer in town starts taking her clients and has eyes on Will, too, Emma decides it’s time to fight for what she wants. The perfectly irritating designer she wants to shove into a hole isn’t the only one who can be down-to-earth and likeable. After all, Emma’s never failed at anything...except walking the line between friendship and love. Crossing it again could mean losing Will’s friendship for good.
With a sigh, I take a notepad and pen from my purse and scribble on the paper for a moment.
How does one compete with the woman who can do everything and warms everyone’s hearts in the process? People are lining up for her design services, not mine.
I don’t make homemade crafts out of used goods, or know how to shoot a gun, or make my own curtains…
Of course, I’m also not desperate enough to follow Will wherever he goes. Nevertheless, it may be time to make some change in my life.
I scribble out my list of goals.
1. Learn PowerPoint and how to make a killer client presentation with it.
2. Buy jeans. Wear them for at least twelve hours. Around other people.
3. Learn how to shoot a gun. And don’t freak out.
4. Visit a dollar store.
5. Take a sewing class. Maybe learn how to make curtains?
6. Go camping. For real.
Maybe these things would help me gain some useful perspective. Trying new things is definitely something my mother never did.

Have you ever felt like too much was going on and you just couldn't handle anything more? Or maybe someone has bothered you so much that you avoid them as much as you can, but they still keep coming back. David felt that way in Faith Blum's short story, Faith is the Victory, and she's here today to tell us more about her book.
About the Book

About the Author
Faith Blum started writing at an early age. She started even before she could read! She even thought she could write better than Dr. Seuss. (The picture doesn’t show it well, but there are scribblings on the page of Green Eggs and Ham). Now that she has grown up a little more, she knows she will probably never reach the success of Dr. Seuss, but that doesn’t stop her from trying.
When she isn’t writing, Faith enjoys doing many right-brained activities such as reading, crafting, playing piano, and playing games with her family. One of her dreams is to visit Castle City, Montana. She currently lives on a hobby farm with her family in Wisconsin.
There are many ways to connect with Faith online. All of them can be found in one convenient place: http://www.faithblum.com. On her website you can find links to her various social media sites and both of her blogs.
This book doesn’t have much to do with Faith is the Victory, but if you like Westerns or stories about mail order brides, you might just like this novella. And it’s written by Faith Blum.
My dad is the manager at a big department store, and I think he does a great job. You can probably guess what Mom’s job is. A few years ago, I saw a neat job title for what she does and have told her a few times that she should get a diploma made up or something. The title is: Research Associate in the field of Child Development and Human Relations. Pretty neat, don’t you think?
During my high school years, I had the opportunity to take a couple of math classes at the local high school. With my interest in engineering, I needed some higher math that Mom wasn’t comfortable teaching me. While there, I got teased quite a bit for only attending a few classes, but could ignore that. What was harder to ignore was Carl Matthews. He was a senior when I was a sophomore and loved to rub it in that he was athletic and I was a nerd. I tried to ignore him, too, but he wouldn’t let me.
One thing about me. I stutter when I’m nervous or scared, so I try to avoid situations where I might become one or the other. Or I just don’t talk which has also worked well. When Carl talked to me, I ignored him and got labeled the most unfriendly, unsociable kid in school. I tried not to care, but every name drove deep down into me, hurting me more and more until for once, I couldn’t wait for school to end.
Three years passed and I’d just started attending the local community college to get a degree in Engineering. I planned to go to the community college until I could afford to transfer to a better one in a year or two. My first day of classes started out great! My professors were helpful and I learned quite a bit from them, even just after one day.
Everything was perfect until one of the older students ran into me. I tried to avoid him, but it didn’t work and all of my books flew around the sidewalk.
“Watch where you’re going!” he yelled. “What are you? A clumsy fool?”
I gulped when I saw the size of him. Then I recognized him. This was the star quarterback for the college football team and the most popular guy at school. “I’m s-s-sorry. I tried to s-s-stay out of your way, but—”
Carl burst out laughing. “What’s the matter? Can’t s-s-say your s’s? What’s your name?” He paused. “Wait, you look familiar. Aren’t you the mute kid from high school?”
My face burned. He had remembered. I knelt down to pick up my books and muttered, “David Conyers.”
Faith and her friend, Amanda Tero, are hosting a Facebook party on September 30th to celebrate their new releases! There will be giveaways, games, fun times, and a grand prize. They are also giving away a set of 4 eBooks to the person who invites the most guests. So head on over, invite some friends and then ask them to vote for you in the poll. The Party link is here and the link to the poll can be found here. They are also doing some fun pre-party posts and on September 26th and 27th, they are taking questions from the guests.

Bookish Orchestrations-Tour Wrap-up
I'm excited to welcome Faith Blum. She joins us today to talk about her new Christian Western, The Solid Rock. It's about a talented detective with a mission to locate his kidnapped colleague. He finds himself working undercover with a heinous outlaw who has more plans than he ever realized.
About the Book
Joshua woke with a quiet groan. As his senses woke up one at a time, he cracked his eyelids open. Sure enough, there was a silhouetted form standing at the foot of the bed. From the smell, the person was either from the brothel down the street or had recently left one.
He forced himself to breathe evenly and reached for the knife in his thigh holster. With as tough and evil a voice as he could imitate, he spoke, “State your intentions.”
Pinkerton detective, Joshua Brookings, is sent on a job that seems simple on the surface. His fellow detective has been kidnapped and his boss, William Pinkerton senses foul play. Joshua is sent to investigate Edward's case in hopes of finding the kidnapped detective and helping solve the case that has taken over ten years to investigate.
Arriving in Cheyenne, Joshua finds much more than a simple kidnapping. Yet again, he must go undercover, something he made his boss promise never to make him do again. The only Christian in the outlaw group, Joshua falters and almost loses faith in God’s providence. Will he stand on the solid Rock or drown in the sinking sand?
You can also preorder a paperback copy here for $14.00 plus shipping.

If you haven't read any of my books and would like to try one for free, I am working on getting A Mighty Fortress available for free on all formats. It is currently free on Barnes and Noble, iBooks, and Kobo. If you also wouldn't mind helping me get it free on Amazon, I would appreciate that. To help, all you have to do is grab 1, 2, or 3 of the links where it is free and go to AMF's Amazon page, click on "tell us about a lower price" and submit a link or three. Thank you!
To celebrate her release, Faith is holding a Facebook party on March 31st from 2-4 Central time. You can join her and 3 other authors here. There will be fun, games, giveaways, excerpts, and more. Some of the giveaways will stay open through Friday evening, April 1st. Fun fact: the other three authors are all homeschool moms.
About the Author
Faith Blum started writing at an early age. She started even before she could read! She even thought she could write better than Dr. Seuss. Now that she's grown up a little more, she knows she will probably never reach the success of Dr. Seuss, but that doesn't stop her from trying.
When she isn't writing, Faith enjoys doing many right-brained activities such as reading, crafting, writing, playing piano, and playing games with her family. One of her dreams is to visit Castle City, Montana someday to see the ghost town she chose for her characters to live in. She currently lives on a hobby farm with her family in Wisconsin.

I'm excited to have Author L. R. W. Lee on my blog today. I haven't read these books yet, but they're definitely on my TBR list. They look amazing and the reviews speak for themselves.
Vision of the Griffin’s Heart, Andy Smithson, Book 5
Four years ago, Andy Smithson discovered he is the Chosen one to break a 500-yr-old curse plaguing the land of Oomaldee when he unexpectedly and mysteriously found himself there. To do so, he must collect ingredients for a magical potion. Thus far he has gathered the scale of a red dragon, venom from a giant serpent, a unicorn’s horn, and the tail feather of a phoenix. Now he must ask a griffin for one of its talons. There’s just one problem…humans have poached griffin treasure, causing these mythical creatures to attack on sight.
Complicating matters, the evil Abaddon, sovereign of Oomaldee’s northern neighbor, is turning more and more citizens into zolt in his ongoing campaign of terror as he sets in motion the final steps of his plan to conquer the land. Things really start to heat up in book five!
If you loved Harry Potter, you’ll love the Andy Smithson series chalk full of mythical creatures, newly invented animals like zolt, herewolves, and therewolves, a complex plot with evolving characters, and positive themes including responsibility, diligence, dignity, friendship and more.

The titles of the books manifest yet another layer of meaning and reveal Imogenia’s evolution.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
L. R. W. Lee credits her love of fantasy with her introduction to C. S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia. Later on, she enjoyed the complex world of Middle Earth brought to life by J. R. R. Tolkien in Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. The multiple dimensions of the worlds mixed with a layer of meaning, captivated her and made her desire to invent Young Adult Fantasy and Epic Fantasy worlds others could get lost in, but also take meaning away from. More recently, L. R. W. Lee has found inspiration from J. K. Rowling and her Harry Potter series as well as Brandon Mull and his best selling Fablehaven, Beyonders and Five Kingdoms series.
L. R. W. Lee writes to teach her readers principles that can transform their lives – overcoming frustration, impatience, fear and more. She also shows why responsibility, diligence and dignity are the keys to true success in life. She lives in scenic Austin, TX with her husband. Their daughter is a Computer Engineer for Microsoft and their son serves in the Air Force.
