Faith, Hope & Love is a special interest chapter of Romance Writers of America. They provide support to authors (and aspiring authors) who write Christian fiction. Every month, they host a Facebook party where readers can chat with several authors.
This month, I'm excited to be one of those authors. I'll be joined by Theresa Lynn Hall and Anne Greene. I hope you'll come by and chat with us. You might even win one of our giveaways!

Every year, Melissa McClone puts together Mother's Day tote bags to send to the Fisher House, a wonderful organization that is dedicated to helping military families. This year, I was blessed with the opportunity to sponsor one of those tote bags. It was fun watching Melissa's Facebook page as she gathered donated books, swag, treats, and more, filling the Thirty-One thermal tote bags to the brim. Check out the photo below (courtesy of Melissa McClone) to see the contents of the bag I sponsored. How fun! I pray the bag was a blessing to someone this Mother's Day.
This year, four additional Thirty-One thermal totes are being given away! For your chance to win one of those totes, head over to Melissa's blog.

I attended my first author event last week at our local library. They hosted the Abilene Author Showcase and, as a local author, invited me to attend. It was an honor to be one of the twenty authors included.
Now, I'm not normally a very outgoing person. In fact, I'd consider myself an introvert. So getting out there and speaking in front of a room full of people was way outside my comfort zone. I joked with my husband and told him that it was too bad I didn't write science fiction. I could dress up in a costume that went with my books and no one would have to see my face. LOL But I survived and I have a feeling this first public appearance will probably make the next one that much easier.
It was fun getting to visit with other local authors. I even had a wonderful fan come by, which was a highlight of the evening. It was a great experience and I'm so glad I was able to be a part of it!
